This stitch has a nice texture and can be stitch as wheels or across rows of straight stitches.
To do the wheel version, make spokes of straight stitches from a center point. It can be any number you like, odd or even.
Bring the needle up in the middle and slide the needle under the first spoke.
Then over and back under and under the next spoke.
Repeat around the wheel until it is full.
