Welcome to The Floss Box blog!
Finally a little update of my project. I haven't come all that far yet, and I've put it aside a bit to work on some other things for a few days. I think I have become a bit bogged down by all the large projects I have been doing in recent months. So I am going to do a few smaller ones to hopefully regain some momentum. The first should be done within a few days!
The hand embroidery network will be hosting a new online embroidery exhibition. The deadline is December 1 to sign up.

I'm getting more and more behind lately! But I did manage to finish this biscornu this past weekend. It was a bit different, but fun. I'm getting a nice little pile of biscornu finishes now. It took a long time before I even had one, but I'm making up for lost time now! I should take a look this weekend and see what unfinished biscornu pieces I have waiting to be stitched together.
I'm continuing on my USA map WIP, although I got a bit distracted this week (new game to play ;)). I will try to get in some stitching this weekend so I will have something to take a picture of for here!

I'm finally almost better from the having the swine flu. I just have a bit of a cough left. I didn't manage to get all that much stitching (or anything else) done at all last week, so now I feel like there is much to get going on.
I did manage to start a new project and get a little done before getting ill though. It's this USA map pattern I made.
It's quite a large project! It took me awhile to draw the design on the fabric. I just used pencil for that. It works fine to cover the pencil up with even just 1 strand of thread - which is what I'm using for the outlines of the states. I'm using some crayon to add a bit more color to the little pictures. I decided to do this after I had already started the project, so a few of the little designs aren't filled in. Anyways, as I said this is a large project, so I'm going to go a bit slow with it since I have many other things I want to do too.

It's been my turn this week to be sick with the swine flu. I haven't done much of anything for 4 days now. I think the worst is past now though. I'm going to have to work hard to make up for all this time I have lost!

The embroidery exhibition is finally open! You can view my page with my two projects or go see everyone's projects in the slide show. All the projects are really good. The exhibition lasts 2 months. I believe there will be another one in the winter or spring, so there will be more chances to participate.
Since I finished those two projects, I started a new biscornu. I only have the top completed so far:

I'll be working on the bottom half later this week. I've begun a new embroidery project now. It's big, so I'm going to show some updates
