Welcome to The Floss Box blog!
Here is my little ATC I made earlier this week.
I received the two embroidery books I ordered this week too.
Both are beautiful books with some great projects and really nice pictures. I'm going to be doing some projects from each of them. The thread painting will be a good challenge, it's something I really want to learn more about.

Yet another biscornu is completed!
This one went pretty quickly, probably because I wasn't working on anything else at the same time. I chose this one because I wanted something a bit wintery feeling. It's getting to be almost that time of year! :)
I made an ATC this week too, I will be back soon with a picture of it. In the meantime, stay warm!

I was waiting for a break from the clouds hoping to get a nicer picture, but I gave up. When the clouds settle in this time of year, it can be weeks without seeing the sun. Here is my project all finished up:
It was fun to do something a bit different. I decided to use crayons to add color to the little pictures. A lot of the stitching I used only 1 strand of thread for, some places 2 strands. It was a bit slow going at first - it's a big project! But after I just decided I wanted to get it done, and just focused on it, it actually went pretty quickly.
I ordered a couple embrodiery books today, Jane Nicholas's new stumpwork book and Trish Burr book about long and short embroidery. I can't wait for them to get here! :) I also picked up the new Inspirations issue this week. Lots of lovely things to look at in there, as always!

Sadly, it's true. I haven't managed to do much at all this month. I have busy with two classes this fall, so those have been taking up some time. Things will be easier in November hopefully.
I did put in the gallery my two projects I stitched this summer for the Hand Embroidery Network online exhibition. click the thumbnails to see bigger versions if you haven't yet.
Both of these project took a month each to complete, and they were lots of fun to stitch. :) I think though that the projects for the next exhibition will have to be a bit less ambitious!
Well, after Friday morning, I will at least have one class done with, so that will free up a bit of time for stitching. In the meantime here are some fall pictures I took recently:

I stitched this over the past week. It was a bit different and fun. The stitches aren't too complicated, lots of stem stitching and some beads sewn on. The bird is of course, painted with fabric paints and outlined with stitching. I've started another design sort of similar to this except with a butterfly, and as soon as it's finished I will stitch it. In the meantime, more biscornus!
